What makes Youth Underground different?

  • Children and young people are at the heart of everything we do. They help shape our messages, tools, programs, and content, ensuring our work reflects how they actually live, communicate, and learn.
  • We focus on prevention, intervening before abuse and exploitation happen. By building knowledge, confidence, digital awareness, and protective skills early, we help children and young people recognize risks and make safer choices.

  • We meet children and young people where they already spend their time. Social media and digital platforms are not simply channels for awareness. We use them as practical tools for education, prevention, and protection.

  • Research informs every aspect of our work, from the content we create to the way we design programs and support children and young people.

  • Prevention is our priority, but our work does not stop there. We help children and young people understand abuse and exploitation, provide pathways to support, and connect those affected to trusted resources and services.

  • Safeguarding is fundamental to everything we do. Every testimony, story, image, and piece of data is handled with care and protected through rigorous international child safeguarding and ethical standards.

  • We measure what matters and report our impact transparently. Our partners and donors can see what their support makes possible, what we are learning, and how we are helping create safer futures for children and young people.

This is a systemic model built to scale, not a one off campaign.
